Hi! I'm Sage! I feel so lucky to be a RN at The Birth Center. As an undergraduate, I went to Dartmouth College where I completed a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences. While there I had several internship experiences both at home and abroad that helped me discover midwifery and the power and wonder of childbirth. I fell in love with the midwifery model of care, and the healthcare of women in general. This propelled me to complete a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania. While there I trained as a doula, volunteered at the Philadelphia Alliance for Labor Support, and completed a senior capstone course in breastfeeding. As a RN I get a diversity of maternity experience working on a High Risk Maternity unit and at the Birth Center. For fun I like to run (half marathons are my favorite distance), read, cook, and play with my Rottweilier, Rosie Mae. The Birth Center feels like less of a job and more of a home. I am passionate about the kind of care The Birth Center provides and the enormous potential it has to affect women and families for good. I believe caring for women is the great work of this century and I feel privileged to be a part of it!
